Our Purpose:
The purpose of the GWPS is to protect the ecosystem of the Glade watershed and separate PODs in Upper Glade, including maintaining current water quality, quantity, and timing of flow, while influencing the watershed processes to restore historical, natural levels of water quality, quantity, and timing of flow, and by consequence, to provide for the health and well being of the Glade community. The value that the forest adds to the health and welfare of all life is paramount and how we care for the elements of nature that provide us with these benefits should be foremost in our actions.

Where are we?
Glade is located about halfway between Castlegar and Nelson on Highway 3a. At the Glade Esso Gas/ General Store, take Glade Ferry Rd down. Follow this road over the tracks and cross the Kootenay River for a 4 minute ferry ride. On the other side, you are in Glade!
When you get off the ferry, take a hard right and you are at Campbell's Landing boat launch.
If you carry on to the first intersection, turn right and go all the way to the end, you will enter the woods and our watershed via the Skattebo Trail, and also see the Glade Creek waterfall.
If you go to the first intersection and go left and go all the way down to the end, go off of the paved road and you can travel to the beach or along to the Ward Ferry Trail. Lots of people come to Glade to go bicycling, swimming, kayaking, and walking.
If you go to the first intersection and go straight up the hill, you will go past the cemetery and be in Upper Glade, with all roads dropping down to lower Glade again. :)
